Counselling & Psychotherapy at The Bay Therapy Centre, West Bridgford, Nottingham
Counselling & Psychotherapy : What to look for.
If you decide to explore private counselling or psychotherapy, check the therapist is registered with a professional body. This means they are committed to good practice, ethical conduct, and continuous learning and development. All of the therapists working at the Centre are qualified, registered with a professional body and insured.
Specialism
If it’s important to you, check if they have a specialism (for example, some therapists specialise in working with particular issues or groups such as younger people, LGBTQ+ people, neurodiversity or survivors of abuse and violence
Type of therapy
You will find that most counsellors/psychotherapists are trained in different models and theoretical approaches and often describe themselves in this way. In practice, most therapists do much the same thing no matter what their training.
Relationship
Research has shown that one of the most important aspects of counselling and psychotherapy is the relationship you form with your therapist. A strong relationship will help you to overcome the challenges you face in the present and to heal from painful events in the past. You may not get the right match initially, but persevere, there will be someone you can work with. Some offer an introductory telephone, teams, or face to face session which might be a consideration for you.
Ways of working
Would you like to meet online, in-person or on the phone? Does the therapist offer blended if you work irregular hours or are they willing to offer different appointment times to fit in with your lifestyle and work patterns? These might be considerations to ensure continuity of therapy.
We have several counsellors and psychotherapists working with different modalities. Take a look at their profiles below. Many have links to their own websites or other professional directories which you may find very useful.
Needing urgent support?

James Hawes : Synergy Counselling
Hello and welcome. I am an experienced therapist supporting clients with anger management difficulties, relationship issues, anxiety and a variety of other issues which are highlighted below. I have worked successfully with hundreds of clients from various backgrounds including Nurses, CEO’s, plumbers, engineers, plasterers, accountants, doctors, professional sportsmen, businessmen and women, students, MD’s and hairdressers.
Modern life can be hectic and stressful, stretching mind, body and spirit to breaking point. The result of this pressure can often make us feel out of sync or disjointed causing dis-ease and unhappiness. With my experienced and unique approach I seek to provide the right conditions to help people make sense of what is happening in their inner world enabling them to gain greater acceptance, control and emotional regulation. An important aspect of my work is seeking to support the client to increase their ‘emotional fitness’ by toning up emotional muscles that may have being dormant for many years. During this work clients find themselves beginning to feel more connected, whole and mentally fit.
"Happiness is when what you think, what you say, and what you do are in harmony" Mahatma Gandhi

Sharon Turner Counselling Services
Individual and Couples therapist experienced in working with change, loss, trauma and relationship difficulties.
Your journey through life’s changes is a chance for self-discovery.
Counselling is an opportunity for self-development and discovery. It can promote growth and healing from many different situations. You may be experiencing a range of issues you are struggling to understand or come to terms which can lead to uncomfortable feelings. Are you experiencing loss or grief? Have you been affected by trauma, either your own or someone else’s? Are you feeling anxious, stressed or depressed, or feeling unable to cope with life’s changes? Difficult feelings can affect work, social and home life; it can affect how you feel about yourself, others and situations. Health issues can bring many different feelings too. These may be current or in the past which are affecting you now. Through counselling you have the opportunity to develop your self-awareness to promote acceptance or change; to learn skills to help you through the difficult times. Counselling gives you the potential to achieve positive growth through exploration in a safe and confidential relationship.
Who I work with and my approach
I work with individuals over sixteen years of age and couples, companies or charities offering face to face and online video appointments. Using a variety of counselling therapies I tailor my approach to your individual needs. Working together, you make the choices of what you bring to sessions and I would like to listen and help you explore the meaning, feelings and emotions behind your difficulties. I believe everyone should have the right to be self-directing so putting you at the heart of our work, I use an eclectic approach to support you to the best of my ability in a non-directive way.
With couples I use a more directive approach as we explore your relationship together. I cover issues such as conflict, affairs, empty nest issues, intimacy issues helping you identify your own and partner’s needs. Whatever difficulties you may be experiencing I can support you as you learn more about yourselves and your relationships.

Mark Pearson - Systemic Child and Family Psychotherapist and EMDR practitioner
My name is Mark Pearson. I am a Systemic Child and Family Psychotherapist and accredited EMDR practitioner. I have been qualified and working in NHS Child and Adolescent Mental Health services for over 20 years. The majority of my experience has been with teenagers and their families using both a family approach and individual therapy.
My main areas of practice are :
- Anxiety
- Low mood and Depression
- Emotional Dysregulation
- Obsessional thinking and behaviours
- Eating disorders
- Autistic Spectrum conditions
- PTSD, Trauma and distressing thoughts/beliefs
- I am also trained in mediation and offer couple therapy and parenting support.
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) is a therapy technique which identifies and exposes people to distressing or traumatic thoughts that lie ‘unprocessed’ in the memory. These memories are then processed using eye movement and/or hand held ‘tappers’ alongside conversational therapy.
I have been using this technique with adults and young people since qualifying in 2014 and have found it an extremely effective therapy. The feedback from clients has been consistently positive and that it generates change quickly.
I think my ‘style’ as a therapist has developed in relation to the feedback I have received from my clients. I like to adopt a positive ‘forward facing’ approach which looks to ‘move people on’ at a speed they can manage whilst also recognising how challenging therapy can be. Systemic Psychotherapy recognises that the solutions to the difficulties we face are already within us and emerge in the conversational space opened by the therapist. A carefully constructed questioning style is used to help clients see things from a different perspective which opens the possibility of change.

Andrea Daykin, C.Psychol, AFBPsS – PSYCHOLOGY & CAT PSYCHOTHERAPY SERVICE
A little about me:
Hello, my name is Andrea. I am a BPS Chartered and HCPC Registered Practitioner Psychologist, UKCP Registered Psychotherapist in Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT) and ACAT Accredited Supervisor in CAT. I have 20 years’ experience working in a range of settings within the NHS which has given me a wealth of experience of helping adults with a range of issues including anger, low mood, anxiety, and relationship difficulties. Alongside my NHS work I ran a small private practice for 6 years where I have seen people for a range of issues such as depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, work related stress, grief and loss. Since 2020 I have been working full time in private practice.
What is CAT and can it help you?
CAT is a therapy where your therapist works with you rather than ‘telling’ you. We decide together how many sessions you are likely to need to reach your goals. It is a relational approach which means we work together to develop a shared understanding of your difficulties and what you would like to change. We explore the way you think, feel and act and how your experiences earlier in life underlie these. Having a diagnosis is not important to access CAT, so you don’t have to consider yourself to have a mental health problem for CAT to help you make changes to your life.
Common issues that people wish to work on include:
- feeling like your friendships or relationships are one sided and that you are always there to support others;
- constantly striving to be the best you can be and then feeling disappointed or like you have failed in some way;
- going along with what others want and feeling like your own needs are not important;
- feeling angry, anxious or low in mood and not sure where these feelings come from.
I have received training in other therapeutic approaches such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), which I can incorporate into your therapy. This helps to ensure the work we are doing together is tailored to your specific needs and helps you to achieve your goals.
How long is a CAT therapy?
Therapy is typically 16 sessions, but longer or shorter therapies can be offered depending on your needs and circumstances. I work at the Centre on Wednesdays.
I am also able to offer the following to healthcare professionals:
- Personal therapy for CAT practitioner & psychotherapy trainees
- Personal therapy for trainee and qualified psychologists (clinical, forensic, counselling)
- Personal CAT reformulations
- Clinical supervision
- CAT supervision
- Training and consultation to other professionals or services
- Psychological formulation
Hannah Luck, Relationship Counsellor & Psychosexual Therapist
Counselling for individuals, couples and families.
Perhaps you are having difficulties in your relationship with your partner or your family? I am an experienced psychotherapist and I specialise in relationship issues and sexual difficulties.
About me – how I can help
If you are experiencing difficulties, feeling confused or stuck and not sure how to change or move forward in yourself and/or in your relationships, then perhaps counselling is going to help you. I offer a non-judgemental, supportive stance and I will always work hard to provide a service that suits the client and that is both ethical and compassionate.
My approach
I am an integrative therapist which means I combine elements of different therapeutic theories. My practice is mostly based on two key approaches: family therapy (how we interact with others) and psychodynamic theory (our inner thoughts and beliefs from childhood to the present). I use techniques from other theories such as Transactional Analysis, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Brief Solution Focused Therapy. The tools and techniques I draw on depend on the client’s presenting problems and our agreed goals for therapy

Nisih Freeman : Willow Counselling & Psychotherapy
About me
Hello, I’m Nisih. I am a qualified person-centred counsellor, which means you—or your child—are at the very heart of our work together.
I firmly believe that you are the true expert on your own life. My role is to walk alongside you, offering a safe, supportive, and deeply understanding space as you navigate your challenges. We will always work at your pace, entirely tailored to what feels most comfortable and helpful for you.
Areas of experience
While I support clients through a wide range of life challenges, a significant part of my practice is dedicated to supporting neurodivergent individuals. I also have extensive experience working with bereavement and loss within a hospice setting.
I am experienced in supporting adults, children, and young people facing a wide range of challenges, including:
- Anxiety and depression
- Trauma and relationship difficulties
- Self-harm and suicidal thoughts
- Bullying and low self-esteem
- Sexual abuse
- Work or school-related stress
How I work
Children and young people
For children and young people, talking directly about big, heavy emotions can sometimes feel daunting. To make therapy feel approachable and safe, I often incorporate creative, non-verbal ways to explore feelings. Depending on what resonates with them, our sessions might involve:
- Creative Expression: Using arts, crafts, drawing, puzzles, or storytelling to create a gentle, safe distance from overwhelming topics.
- Somatic & Nature Practices: Taking walks in nature, or practising simple breathing and mindfulness techniques to help soothe anxious feelings.
- Traditional Talking Therapy: If they prefer to just sit and talk, that is perfectly fine too.
The most important thing is that your child feels in control of their sessions and completely comfortable with how we work together.
Adults
For adults, our sessions provide a confidential, warm, and entirely non-judgmental environment. Together, we will work to make sense of your experiences, unpack complex thoughts and feelings, develop practical coping strategies, and find a meaningful way to move forward.
My Philosophy
I truly believe that growth and healing happen when we connect with our emotions and feel genuinely accepted for exactly who we are. In our sessions, you will be met with warmth, authenticity, and complete acceptance. My commitment is to build a therapeutic relationship rooted in trust, where you feel safe enough to explore even the most painful parts of your story.
Training and academic background
I am a trauma-informed practitioner. I have an MA in Person-centred counselling, an MSc in Psychology (Conversion), and a PhD in Finance. I am a Registered member (411406) of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) as well as a Graduate member (571094) of the British Psychological Society (BPS).
Session length and fees
Each session is 50 minutes long, and I charge £55 per session.
HearingYou Psychotherapy : Susanne Sklepek-Hatton, MSc, M.A., BA (Hons), MUKCP (Accred.)
Why therapy?
You may seek therapy at a life crossroad where you are feeling stuck with a seemingly unsolvable conflict. You may want to come to therapy because you feel too much (including triggers and phobias) or nothing at all and as a result you might have developed addictive and/or compulsive behaviours that can also make you feel ashamed and lonely. You may simply need help to gain clarity on the future of a particular relationship or a major life decision, such as a change in career. You might have been impacted by external life circumstances (divorce, career change, bereavement, COVID) that have challenged your sense of who you are.
How can I help?
I will sit with you in a safe, confidential space, listen to you and together we will get to know your inner world, however messy, complex and conflicted it may seem to begin with. By hearing all of you with warmth and empathy we will gain a sense of how you got to where you are. There might be conflicting parts within your world (especially those that drive behaviour that you don’t like, that is seemingly ‘not you’) that need to be heard with empathy and care, to allow you to move forward in your life with purpose, agency and a sense of wholeness. For some people, this might mean going back to their childhood and addressing unresolved trauma that has left a lifelong imprint on their life and behaviour whilst others choose to work with the here and now only. In most cases we move between the two, always at the pace and at a depth that is right for you.
My training and experience
Following previous careers in higher education and the arts, I feel lucky and privileged to have found my own professional ‘home’ in training as Person-Centred and Experiential Psychotherapist at the Sherwood Psychotherapy Training Institute (MSc, Distinction). My training included several years of undergoing my own personal therapy which gave my my own experience of the deeply transformative effects of feeling seen, heard and ‘felt’ in a safe therapeutic space.
I have experience working with a wide range of clients of different genders, ages, sexual orientations and cultures with varied presentations and depth of issues. I have undertaken additional training that has allowed me to work with clients who have experienced individual or long-term childhood trauma and/or whose needs as children were not met by their caregivers. I also have experience working with clients with Autism and ADHD and I am particularly interested in the intersection between trauma and neurodivergence (whether self or externally diagnosed). I am currently participating in an ongoing programme called SBSM (Smart Body/ Smart Mind) that is focused on post-traumatic nervous system healing and the return to an embodied, purposeful way of being.
Amongst others I have undertaken training in the following areas:
- Working with Shame
- Working with Child Sexual Abuse – Hope for Healing
- When Trauma Gets Stuck
- Working with Trauma Triggers and Flashbacks
- Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction
- Working with Trauma Memory
- Inner Child Workshop
- IFS in Action: Leading Clients to Self Leadership
- Understanding & Working With Autistic Clients in Therapy
- ADHD, Neurodiversity, and Clinical Practice
- Polyvagal Theory in Action
I am accredited with the UKCP and I adhere to their codes and ethical framework. I have full professional indemnity insurance and enhanced DBS clearance.
I am a full clinical member of the following organisations:
UKCP: Registered Clinical Member of the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy.
HIPC: Registered Clinical Member of the Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy College.

Alison McLauchlan : Counselling & Neurodivergent Coaching
Hello, I’m Alison (she/her) and I am an experienced Counsellor and Neurodivergent Coach. I have a Masters in Person Centred Therapy, am a qualified Executive Function Coach and a member of the BACP.
Are you struggling with day to day life or have you lost a sense of who you are? Life can be challenging at times and we can feel undervalued or misunderstood. Many of us find it difficult to process these experiences on our own. I hope to facilitate a space where you feel accepted and able to work through the issues that are causing you distress.
I believe that everyone is capable of positive and lasting change, no matter how hidden that may seem at the moment. We are each completely unique and process what happens to us in our own way. I will offer you a confidential and non judgemental space, where I hope to empower you in a process of self understanding, to help you reconnect with yourself and your sense of self worth and to support your ability to make choices and explore more effective ways of living.
Autistic burnout is increasingly common due to masking and trying to conform to a social and work environment not built to consider Neurodivergent needs. Often people with ADHD have issues with inhibition, impulsivity, procrastination and would like strategies to manage these traits and live and work more effectively. The aim of ND coaching is to harness your strengths and overcome challenges, to enable you to live more effectively. Through acceptance of your ND self, coaching enables you to live in a more authentic way, without needing to mask in the workplace or social settings. ND Coaching can be funded through Access to Work.
One of the hardest steps can be reaching out and asking for help, especially if you’re not used to it. If you would like to explore whether we’d work well together, please contact me to arrange a free introductory 30 minute on-line appointment. I want therapy and the therapy space to be as inclusive and accessible as possible, so please let me know of any needs you may have
I offer discounts for students, those on low wage and trainee counsellors.

Hanna Seely : Lastinglight Counselling
Since qualifying over two and a half years ago, I have worked with adults in private practice and as a school counsellor across several secondary schools in Nottinghamshire. With just under a decade of experience working in the education sector, I have come to specialise in developmental theory within my counselling practice. This focuses on helping adults to shift old behavioural, emotional and thought patterns they may have developed in childhood or adolescence which are no longer serving them. This work can also allow the client to process past experiences and help them to be more present in their current lives and relationships. I have experience working with a variety of issues, such as: anxiety, depression, stress, bereavement, low self-esteem, low confidence, relationship issues, self-harm, suicidal thoughts or ideation and more.
I am an integrative counsellor, meaning that I practice several different counselling modalities: CBT, Person-Centred Counselling, Psychodynamic Counselling, Gestalt, Transactional Analysis. This means that I can cater to each individual in relation to their needs, preferences, personality and history. I can work with a talk-based approach, a practical/ exercise- based approach, or a mixture depending on what you would feel most comfortable with. Depending on what you require help with, we can decide together whether a goal-based approach or open-ended approach would be suited to your counselling experience.
If you have any questions or would like further details, please get in touch. Thank you for taking the time to read this and I look forward to hearing from you soon.

A little about me……..
Elspeth Hall MBACP - Supernova Therapy
If you are struggling, I am here to listen and to navigate these waters with you. I offer remote and face to face counselling which is trauma-informed, intersectional, and empowerment based.
Much of my work is with clients who have experienced trauma such as sexual or domestic violence (recent or historical). I have experience working with LGBTQ+ and TBI clients on all issues, including exploring gender dysphoria, discrimination, and systemic abuse. Our sessions will be client-led, guided by you, and we will work at your pace. I incorporate a number of different approaches into my work in order to tailor it personally to you and what you feel you need. I work with all ages, children and young people are welcome.
Starting therapy can be a daunting experience, especially if you are a member of a marginalised group. It is very important to me that my therapy is based within an understanding of intersectionality and how systemic prejudice affects individuals in a complex way, often compounding the trauma you might face. You can feel reassured that your space with me is a place where you can express yourself freely.
In my practise I endeavour to create a safe space where I enter into your unique sphere of existence. I will frequently use metaphor as a vehicle to explore your innermost feelings and lay them out between us, enabling us both to make sense of them. I use a holistic approach to explore you as your entire being, the bigger picture of you, rather than a clinical deconstruction that reduces you to diagnosis or acronyms.
I work with all clients from all walks of life, backgrounds, professions, and presenting issues, and I have years of experience in working with trauma and sexual violence. I recognise the complexity of trauma and the impact it can have on someone’s life, that it is often multi-faceted, a complicated tapestry with no simple beginning or end. This journey may take us through your relationships (past and present), as well as deconstructing harmful myths and narratives that may have disempowered you.
I am fully qualified and currently working towards accreditation with the BACP.
I welcome clients with neurodiverse traits to please contact me to discuss how best we can navigate therapy together. Just because you may be non-verbal or communicate in an “unconventional” manner does not mean your emotional experiences are less valid or less worthy of being authentically explored.

About me and my practice
Welcome, my name is Naheed, and I am a Humanistic Integrative therapist, working from Nottingham, in-person, and online. We can all experience dissatisfaction within our relationships at some period within our lives. Sometimes we need support to understand what we are feeling and struggle with anxiety and depression or feel trapped. I am committed to providing support within a safe, empathic, and confidential space where you can explore your experience with respect and understanding. I have an in-depth understanding of the experiences of being a daughter, sister, mother, wife, or friend and can offer fresh insight to familiar patterns.
I can help identify your relational patterns, manage stress & anxiety, build self-esteem & confidence, help process traumatic experiences and understand complex feelings. I offer culturally attuned therapy to women from a variety of backgrounds often very different to my own. I respect our differences recognising that we may also share similarities, yet we will all have our unique life experiences and challenges.
My priority is to create a genuine, warm, and non-judgmental therapeutic space, where you can, at your own pace unpack and explore your feelings. Dr Kerry Cope: Clinical Psychologist and EMDR therapist
I am a Clinical Psychologist and EMDR therapist with over 15 years experience of supporting people with mental health difficulties. I have worked with children, adolescents and adults with a range of difficulties, including anxiety, anger, low mood, grief, self-esteem, and trauma reactions including PTSD.
Although I offer support for a range of difficulties, my areas of special interest are in supporting individuals with traumatic experiences, as well as mental health difficulties experienced in the perinatal period.
I am trained and experienced in a variety of psychological models. I work in an integrative manner, drawing upon these models to create a individualised plan specific to your wants and needs. The main models I use include Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion Focussed Therapy (CFT), and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). I am also a trained facilitator in the Circle of Security Parenting Programme. This is an attachment-based parenting education programme that helps parents better understand and build on their relationships with their children, by supporting parents to understand their children’s emotional world.
I am able to offer sessions on Fridays during working hours. I also have limited availability for online sessions on a Tuesday evening. For more information regarding services I provide, and how I work, please visit my website (link below).

I run a trauma informed service and I specialise in trauma work, abuse, substance misuse and neuro-divergent counselling services, however I work with a very wide range of issues: depression, anxiety, anger, bereavement, bullying, self-esteem, relationships, stress, women’s services.
If you’re feeling overwhelmed, confused, or anxious, know that you’re not alone. It’s understandable to feel scared, depressed, or sad, and it can be difficult to know where to start on the path towards healing. That’s why I offer a warm and supportive therapeutic space where you can feel heard, seen, and understood.
I believe in the power of compassion and non-judgmental listening. You don’t have to face your struggles alone – I’m here to walk alongside you on your journey, offering unconditional positive regard and helping you make sense of your overwhelming emotions. I am fully insured and a member of BACP and I adhere to their code of conduct.
I am trained in a variety of therapeutic modalities, including Gestalt, mindfulness, breath work, and art therapy. These approaches offer unique and powerful tools for exploring and processing emotions, gaining insight into patterns of behaviour and thought, and fostering personal growth and transformation. Whether you prefer talk therapy, creative expression, or a combination of approaches, I can work with you to find the modalities that best suit your needs and goals. It’s important to note that everyone’s experience with therapy and these modalities is unique, and what works for one person may not work for another.
I offer a 15 minutes free introductory call during which we can understand if I can help. This can be done over phone, Teams, Zoom or Skype. I usually have availability for these same day if needed. I am available Monday to Thursday for online sessions from 16:30 to 20:30 (last session at 19:30). Emma Thomas, Person-Centred Psychotherapist and Perinatal Counsellor
About me
Hi, I’m Emma. I work as a Psychotherapist and Perinatal / Maternity Counsellor, both in-person at the Bay Therapy Centre and remotely by telephone or video call. I live locally and balance my work with a busy family life.
Prior to training as a psychotherapist, I worked as a midwife in the NHS for 20 years. I feel privileged to have been involved in both professions and think there is a great deal of crossover between the two. I feel my skills lie in building trusting relationships at depth with people and communicating with compassion and empathy.
Person-Centred Psychotherapy
For me, the beauty of counselling is that it is a protected space just for you, to be able to say exactly what you feel and to explore what is troubling you, without the fear of any impact on the other person – like you might have with friends or family.
I have trained in the Person-Centred approach which centres around the idea that everyone has the resources and ability to change and develop positively, given the right environment. As a counsellor my aim is to provide this environment by developing a relationship with clients in which they feel safe and heard and feel able to explore whatever they need to, without judgment.
I have experience of working with a diverse range of clients and presenting issues. I offer both short and long-term counselling, with a flexible approach based on individual client need.
Perinatal counselling
As a midwife I understand how the maternity system works in depth and use this alongside my counselling skills to support people with all aspects of pregnancy / birth or the postnatal period. Some areas I cover include:
- Anxiety in pregnancy or fear of giving birth (tokophobia)
- Negative experiences in labour or birth / birth trauma – anything that left you feeling frightened, vulnerable or out of control can be difficult to process and resolve
- Loss of a baby or stillbirth
- Infertility / miscarriage
- Subsequent pregnancy following loss of a baby (rainbow baby)
- Unresolved feelings about pregnancy or birth – whatever the outcome
- Adapting to being a parent – this can be a huge and overwhelming life change
I also work with birth partners and wider family members. I think the impact of pregnancy, birth and parenthood on partners and grandparents is underestimated, particularly when there has been a sad outcome.
Training and Experience
I trained to masters level in my midwifery career and I have an MSc in Person-Centred and Experiential Psychotherapy. I am an accredited member of the UKCP (UK Council for Psychotherapy) and adhere to their ethical guidelines. I have undertaken training with the Foundation for infant Loss and am a Rainbow Baby Specialist.

Laura Halliwell : Counsellor
As a person-centred counsellor I fully immerse myself in your world, and I commit to working with you, whatever struggles you face. I offer an open encounter where I help foster in you a greater sense of self-worth and agency. I practice a non-directive approach where I listen, helping you to hear your own needs and realise what changes you want to make.
My work has supported those facing multiple struggles, notably:
- grief,
- depression,
- loneliness,
- infidelity,
- the processing of new diagnoses,
- anxiety,
- suicidal ideation,
- self-esteem struggles,
- relationship complexities,
- and control around alcohol, weight and compulsive behaviours.
I work anti-diagnostically, believing that these behaviours often make sense in the context of your life, but that together, the therapeutic relationship can help you develop an understanding about where these behaviours and thoughts originate, and how you might develop more helpful behaviours in the future.
Making time for yourself begins the process of self-care, and whatever tangled struggle you manage, I endeavour to be alongside you, no difficulty being too big or too small. Shame grows in the darkness, so together I will bring light and love, to help you move in the direction your authentic self seeks. I believe it is the relationship that heals.
I am typically available on a Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

Sammi Soni : Transactional Analysis Psychotherapeutic Counsellor
Hello, I’m Sammie
Trying to find a counsellor can feel overwhelming and with this in mind I thought it might be helpful for me to explain how I work. From this I hope you can get a sense of how we could work together.
I am a trained and qualified Transactional Analysis psychotherapeutic counsellor and have training in Advanced TA Psychotherapy. One of the main reasons I chose this modality was because it allows me to help clients to explore, reflect and understand their thoughts, feeling and behaviours, holding equal light to past experiences and the here and now. I personally think this is really important as it means you can heal some of your past wounds and look to carve out a here and now experience that you want.
Some of the issues I have worked with include;
- Breaking down addictions – With addiction I tend to explore what is driving the person to the addiction and work towards a sense of recovery and stability.
- Acknowledging multi-culturalism – As someone who has Indian parents and was brought up in the UK, I feel I have an understanding of some of the issues faced by both 1st and 2nd generation immigrants. I have worked with many people from various ethnic backgrounds and have explored the potential pressures of living within multiple cultures.
- Transitional work -This work often takes place after a life change, such as a bereavement, change in relationship, or becoming a parent. I help clients to explore where they are currently, focusing on the person they want to be as opposed to the person they think they should be
- Understanding mental health conditions – I have worked for over 10 years within various mental health settings, I have experience of working with people with mental health diagnoses, part of that work has been to help people make sense of their diagnosis and to build an identity that is not a label.
- Shedding light on abuse – Working with clients who have experienced various types of abuse, this work requires patience and space and I work to the client’s pace.
- Working through relationship issues – Often I find clients who are experiencing relationship issues, can be in conflict with themselves. I therefore pay attention to the client’s relationship with themselves and others to promote healthier ways of communicating.
- Improving self-esteem – Through this work we can explore what improved self-esteem means to you and what steps we can take to get you to where you would like to be.
I offer both short and long term work; the length of our work can be discussed and reviewed as and when needed. I offer online and face to face sessions. Sessions are from £55-65 per session.
Feel free to contact me for a free 20 minute consultation.
Marc Goodall Counselling
Hi there, and thanks for taking a look at my profile.
What’s going on for you at this moment in time?
Probably a more searching question would be, what are you struggling with presently?
What issues have been getting you down, or stressing you out? Are you unable to cope, feeling confused, isolated or in despair? Perhaps you just know something isn’t quite right, but you’re not sure exactly what.
I can help you navigate such challenges, by providing you with space, safety and connection to help you explore what’s going on for you. Together we can find a way for you to move forwards. To find freedom from whatever holds you back or gets in your way.
I am an Integrative Person-Centred Counsellor who has interest in creative and energy-based therapies. Along with talking therapies, I also offer other interventions such as Emotional freedom techniques (EFT), Sand Tray therapy, art and poetry, NLP, Matrix Re-imprinting, even Walk and Talk Therapy.
Being Integrative means I draw from main psychotherapeutic practices, but with that I combine these other perspectives too. This makes me very adaptable and flexible in my approach. I am always collaborative and intuitive in my style, but at the heart of my practice I provide a real connection. I believe you, as the client, hold the answers and awarenesses you need, and that with the right therapeutic relationship you can discover the change and clarity you seek.
Please email me with any questions, or I offer a free phone conversation if you’re wanting to know more and you’re just curious to see if we could work together.
I have been working for ten years as a therapist, working in many different settings, with many different types of clients, including LGBTQAI+ and neurodivergent individuals. I have recently been supporting HE students in the midlands area.
I gained a master’s in counselling from the university of Manchester, and I am a registered member of the BACP, EFT International, and a member of the Creative Counsellors organisation. I have a particular interest in identity, and spiritual development.
Below are some of the issues I can help with. It’s not an exhaustive list, so call me if there’s something not covered here, and we can talk through what you need and how I can help you.

Tom Zettle, M.A. MNCPS (Acc.) : Person-Centred Therapist
As a Person-Centred therapist, the basic premise of my work is that all people possess an inward reserve; an innate capacity to either heal or positively change towards a more authentic self-identity and expression.
I view my specialism as unlocking this capacity by creating a genuine, caring, human connection – full of acceptance without judgement and empathic understanding rooted in my client’s experience. This optimal environment provides the time and space for my clients to become increasingly connected with their experience of themselves and move, at their pace, towards radical self-acceptance – a pre-requisite of positive and meaningful change.
People seek my help in the hope of finding relief from negative feelings and experiences, both past and present. I have worked with clients who have experienced adverse childhood events, as well as survivors of sexual and domestic violence. I have also worked with clients who are seeking to free themselves from problematic alcohol or drug use. These experiences can lead to feelings of anxiety or depression, feeling emotionally blocked or reluctant to engage with emotions that may be painful. Relationships can be negatively affected together with an ability to enjoy life, flourish, to create direction and purpose or feel at home with oneself.
The main therapeutic outcomes for my clients are set by them according to what they decide. Clients often report feeling increased self-acceptance, increasing authenticity and agency and a reduction in negative feelings. I have already witnessed the transformation power of the person-centred approach in many of my past clients. If you are looking for a professional, caring and positive therapy to fully explore the roots of your experience, then please get in touch for a free consultation session.
Dr Rebecca Money – Clinical Psychologist
I am Dr Rebecca Money, a HCPC registered Clinical Psychologist. I work with young people and adults, offering psychological services such as assessment and therapy. I work in an integrative way, meaning my sessions are informed on evidence-based approaches, whilst being tailored to you and your individual needs.
I have worked in mental health services since 2012, including in the NHS, local authority, and independent services. I continue to work part time in the NHS whilst running Dr Rebecca Money Psychological Services, which I started in 2022.
Sometimes people come to see me if they have a specific area in their life they would like to change. Other times it may be to talk and understand previous experiences, or to explore more about themselves. I aim to offer a comfortable, empathic, and non-judgemental environment, working from a trauma-informed and neuroaffirming stance. I hope that my sessions offer a space where you feel safe and heard.
My work is often informed by Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR). How I approach therapy
My approach to therapy is about helping people live their lives with depth, commitment and joy.
Life is not always easy. None of us get to choose the brain, body or circumstances we are born in too – and many things we experience throughout our lives continue to be beyond our control.
BUT we can always reflect on what we think and feel about our experiences. We can also learn about what drives the choices we make. We can even begin to make more compassionate choices that are kinder to ourselves (and others) and create more meaning and purpose in our lives.
All the therapies I offer are based on my commitment to help you explore what is important to you, develop self-care and compassion and build inner resources that support you to live your best life.
Pamela Glover : Therapist
Does life feel like a challenge every day? Are you stuck? Want to change things but don’t know how to make it happen? I work with people who have experienced loss, bereavement or change that has affected their life. I also work with people exploring their identity, especially people who identify as neurodivergent. Together we can explore your life in a safe, confidential place with curiosity, kindness and courage. We will gently discover what we can do to make your life what you want it to be.
I place you at the centre of the process adapting my approach to fit you. I use a range of approaches, Person Centred, CBT, creative work and sometimes the outdoors. There is no one size fits all, so together we will find what works for you. Good therapy is based on the relationship between client and therapist, and I will bring my authentic self to each session to hear you. It is important you feel safe and valued so you can be you and can honestly express yourself in your way at a pace you feel comfortable with. I will not judge you and I will be calm and patient when we work through things that are challenging or painful. My communication will be clear, thoughtful and prompt reflection
For many years I was fully occupied as a teacher and parent, but the profession became a source of distress, my children left home, I faced losses and change. I have been in that stuck place. My journey to redefine my life has inspired me to support others. I volunteer at Treetops Hospice supporting bereaved young people and adults with some of life’s most difficult times. I have also volunteered with Childline counselling young people in need of support. One of the changes I made was to retrain as a counsellor which has been and continues to be an incredible experience.
Through my training and own therapy, I have come to understand the role neurodivergence has played in shaping who I am and the experiences I have had both good and not so good. This leads me on to my other area of understanding: Neurotypes. I have worked with children with autism, AuDHD, ADHD, dyslexia and PDA in both schools and counselling settings. Neurodiversity is something which comes up in counselling adults to and I am comfortable exploring this with broader issues or on its own.
You may feel apprehensive especially if this is your first counselling experience. In our first session I will offer you a warm, friendly welcome and a space to just for you. I will explain formalities such as contracts, confidentiality and what ways we could work in. You may feel you want to talk about deep things straight away or take time to get to know me and have a lighter conversation. This is your session for you. Throughout the sessions we will consider goals that matter to you and re-evaluate them as we work. This is work is a partnership based on trust between us both.
Contact me for an informal chat and take that first step to start making the changes you want in your life.

Alexia Morningstar – Trauma-Informed Counsellor and Clinical Hypnotherapist
Type of therapy conducted
Pluralistic, trauma-informed counselling and clinical hypnotherapy for adults.
About me and how I can help
You may be considering therapy because something feels difficult to carry alone. You might be experiencing anxiety, emotional overwhelm, low self-esteem, grief, relationship difficulties or the lasting effects of trauma and adverse experiences. You may recognise that the past is affecting you, while still feeling unsure about how to move forward.
My approach is pluralistic and trauma-informed, shaped by my experience of supporting adults through trauma, emotional distress and difficult life experiences. This means that we work collaboratively to understand what may be most helpful for you, rather than expecting you to fit one particular way of working.
Our sessions may include talking therapy, psychodynamic exploration, psychoeducation, nervous-system regulation and practical therapeutic tools. Clinical hypnotherapy may also be incorporated where appropriate and where this is something you would like to explore.
Above all, I aim to provide a warm, compassionate and non-judgemental space where you can feel heard, understand yourself more deeply and move forward at a pace that feels manageable
Areas I can support with include:
Trauma and adverse life experiences
Anxiety, stress and emotional overwhelm
Low self-esteem, shame and self-criticism
Relationship and attachment difficulties
Grief, loss and significant life changes
Difficult childhood experiences
Boundaries and people-pleasing
Feeling stuck, disconnected or unsure of yourself
Understanding emotional and behavioural patterns
Nervous-system regulation and developing a greater sense of safety
Qualifications and professional development
I hold a Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and a Level 4 qualification in Clinical Hypnotherapy.
I also hold a BSc with Honours in Psychology and am currently completing an MSc in Trauma Studies at University College Cork, developing my specialist understanding of trauma, recovery and post-traumatic growth.
I am continuing my psychodynamic counselling training at Level 5, which further supports my work in helping clients explore how earlier experiences and relationships may influence their present emotions, patterns and relationships.
