Wellness with Joanna: Indian Head Massage
Indian Head Massage is a deeply relaxing therapy rooted in Ayurvedic tradition which focuses on the head, scalp, face, neck and shoulders, the areas where we most commonly hold tension and stress. Using a combination of soothing and stimulating massage techniques, it can help to ease muscular tightness, calm a busy mind, improve circulation and promote a sense of overall wellbeing. Many people find it especially helpful for stress, tension headaches, fatigue and poor sleep. Usually carried out while you are seated and without the need for oils, Indian Head Massage is a convenient and restorative treatment that can leave you feeling both relaxed and re-energised.

Indian Head Massage
Originating from the Ayurvedic tradition in India over a thousand years ago, Indian head massage, also known as champissage targets key areas of the head, neck, and shoulders. This therapeutic technique involves a series of rhythmic movements, including gentle kneading, tapping, and circular motions, designed to release built-up tension and promote relaxation. The soothing touch and repetitive motions induce a state of deep relaxation, reducing levels of cortisol, the stress hormone, in the body. This not only alleviates immediate feelings of anxiety but also promotes better sleep quality and overall mood stability.
