Who am I?

I am a fully qualified, chartered Physiotherapist and have been for 14 years. I have worked in all sorts of areas of physiotherapy including but not limited to putting people with trauma or accident injuries back on their feet, growing gills standing in hydrotherapy pools assisting people with new knees and hips get their movement going again, working to stimulate muscles and alleviate discomfort for MS sufferers, and most recently helping people with long term, chronic, or debilaltative cardio respiratory conditions regain some control and independence in their lives to improve their quality of life through education, conditioning, exercising, and building strength.

I have worked in private, NHS and charitable settings, my company BlueRose Healthcare serves to enable me to combine both the care and dedication to welfare that has seen me devote many years to the NHS, and the agility and availability to patients that a private service offers.

I love my work, it is my life! As such, I dedicate hours every week to my continual learning. My current obsessions are shoulders and knees. I have also developed significant experience in sports injuries particularly those connected to repetitive joint use such as sailing, archery, paddle sports and equestrian (horse rider).

Why physiotherapy?

Physiotherapy is a treatment that aims to improve the way your joints and muscles work.

I use a combination of ‘hands-on care’, exercises and education to improve your flexibility, strength and movement.

Your issues may be caused by illness, age, or injury, they may be long-term, chronic or progressive conditions, or they might be recent and new.

You may have slowed down, have difficulty in regular or day to day activities like going to the shops, it might be that your struggling to get out of your chair or tackle the stairs anymore, or it might be that participating in your favourite sport or pastime now causes you pain  and discomfort.

Whatever the cause I am ready willing, qualified and experienced to treat you.

How does it work?

Physical rehabilitation takes time, and normally works in sessions.

On your first appointment I will need to take details of medical history and details of current symptoms

We may have to look at you moving, test your strength and examine any areas that may be causing you pain.

From this I can give some initial guidance to help you.

On subsequent sessions we will go through a unique and personalised treatment plan.

I also have a range of supporting tools available such as a YouTube channel for exercise examples as most of my treatments can be done at home on your own with no need for any special equipment.

Where necessary I can also offer you inexpensive exercise or treatment aids or just recommend something you may want to get yourself.
